PLANET Technology, a global leading provider of IP-based networking products, today received the 2024 Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards [SDG 4 Quality Education – Gold Award] for its continuous efforts in the past 21 years in implementing educational and counseling programs at schools for disadvantaged students.
The Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy organizes the Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards (TSAA) and its purpose is to advocate the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
For the past 21 years, the PLANET Educational Charitable Fund has invested in providing supportive education programs for disadvantaged students through the “Remedial Education (remedial teaching/diverse curriculum) and Psychological Counseling” program, which continues today. The program directly meets the UN Sustainable Development Goals [SDGs 4 Quality Education], ensuring everyone receives equal, comprehensive, and high-quality education.
More than 10,000 students have benefited from the program which helped them regain confidence and learning motivation. Customizing the remedial program for each student helps those with emotional disorders gain the strength to proceed with their education and reduce the possibility of dropping out. Last year (2023), PLANET collaborated with a NGO “Making in Sanshing Future Life School” to support junior high school students across Yilan County who are at risk of dropping out or have already dropped out of school by helping them accomplish goals, acquire skills, and return to the school system.
PLANET uses its core management and operational capabilities to integrate resources from enterprises, schools, and communities to implement educational programs for disadvantaged students. With this program, we hope to have a positive impact on students and society.
