PLANET Technology Corporation, a global leading IP-based networking company, has received the ‘2020 Corporate Citizenship Awards’ from CommonWealth Magazine, one of the most prestigious business media in Taiwan, resulting from its long-term implementation of CSR not only on the basis of corporate sustainability but also aligning with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN’s 2030 agenda. Having been selected by this CSR award for the 14th straight year since it was first held in 2007, PLANET has been profoundly recognized again as the model of corporate citizen in Taiwan.
Besides continuing to strengthen the corporate governance mechanism, the company contributes to environmental sustainability by developing energy-saving, user-friendly and intuitive network equipment and management systems so as to enable enterprises of all kinds to build cost-effective and yet smart network infrastructures. Moreover, PLANET has put much effort in protecting clean water resources for the residents in Northern Taiwan by funding organic farmers in the upstream of the Feitsui Reservoir for more than 10 years. PLANET also pays attention to improving the quality of human resources in Taiwan. For its employees, PLANET always maintains a gender equality and friendly workplace, and assists them in improving their work skills. Healthwise, lectures on disease prevention, physical exercises, and more are schedulely given to those interested employees by well-known health physicians. Countering disadvantage, PLANET has been promoting the “Educational Program for the Disadvantaged Children” for 16 years in Xindian and the greater Taipei area. We are happy to learn that more than 8,000 disadvantaged children who are slow learners or those with emotional or behavioral problems has regained self-confidence in learning and tackling problems they may face in the learning stages by attending this educational support program.
The “Corporate Citizenship Awards” organized by CommonWealth Magazine is by far the largest CSR performance evaluation designed for Taiwan’s companies. In this area, PLANET meets the international standards of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, Dow Jones Sustainability Indices, and the UN 17 SDGs. To be eligible for this award, each company must continue to make profits for at least 3 consecutive years and outperform in the 4 main criteria: Corporate Governance, Corporate Commitment, Social Involvement, and Environmental Sustainability. Winning this award once again, it acknowledged PLANET has never ceased to optimize its business value and influence so as to help achieve a better Earth and society as a whole.
