PLANET Technology Corporation, a global leading IP-based networking company, was honored to receive ‘2016 Corporate Citizenship Awards’ from CommonWealth Magazine. It also made PLANET among more than 700 Taipei Exchange (TPEx) listed companies in Taiwan to be the only TPEx-listed company to be awarded this glory for the past 10 consecutive years. The company has been known for its long-standing practice of CSR in terms of Corporate Governance, Corporate Commitment, Social Participation and Environmental Protection. Particularly, PLANET is recognized as a role model for utilizing its core management capabilities and long-term best practice principles. Besides, the company has fervently involved in community and social services like guiding those disadvantaged children who are slow learners or those with emotional or behavioral problems for the past 12 years.
PLANET has devoted to developing innovative networking and communication products and solutions to provide people with smart lifestyle as well as energy conservation to help protect our environment. As a result, PLANET has been awarded ‘Taiwan Excellence Award’ for the last 13 consecutive years. In addition, PLANET’s business ethics is to keep promoting green sourcing through its effort in urging its suppliers to implement CSR in order to ensure all components and parts do not contain substances harmful to the environment. On the other hand, the company has contributed to maintaining a good ecosystem and clean water resource in greater Taipei area by funding the organic tea farm in the upstream of Feitsui Reservoir for more than 6 years.
With altruism as the core in the implementation of CSR and making use of the advantage of its core management capabilities, PLANET has collaborated with schools, community professionals, nonprofit organizations (NPOs) and others to effectively conduct after-school tutoring and psychological counseling for the disadvantaged children for more than 12 years. A review of their performance is made every semester to ensure this customized educational program is more and more helpful to the disadvantaged children, thus successfully lifting up the children’s desire to learn.
Executed for the 10th year, the ‘Corporate Citizenship Awards’ is Taiwan’s most authoritative CSR barometer organized by CommonWealth Magazine, one of the most prestigious business media in Taiwan. It is benchmarked to international standards including the UN Global Compact, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, and Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes. To be eligible for this award, each company must continue to make profits for at least 3 consecutive years and outperform in the 4 main criteria: Corporate Governance, Corporate Commitment, Social Involvement, and Environmental Protection. Winning this award for the 10th straight year, it acknowledged PLANET, a CSR role model in Taiwan, has never ceased to optimize its business value and influence so as to help achieve a better society.
