PLANET Technology, a global leading IP-based networking company, was honorably recognized as a role model for practicing corporate governance and CSR again in Taiwan. For the second consecutive year, the company was certified to be in the top 5 percent of the 623 Taipei Exchange (TPEx) listed companies in the Corporate Governance Evaluation officially and jointly held by the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) and TPEx.
Upholding strong business ethics and continuously putting effort in building a good culture of CSR, PLANET maintains a sound corporate governance system, strengthens the functions of the Board of Directors, enhances information transparency, and protects shareholders' equity and rights. As a result, PLANET was acknowledged among the top again in the official corporate governance evaluation in Taiwan. It was also the leading IP-based networking company with its own brand receiving this honor for two consecutive years.
TWSE and TPEx have jointly held the corporate governance evaluation since 2014 in accordance with the “Corporate Governance Roadmap” released by the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) of Taiwan. To be in line with international standards and promoting Taiwan’s public listed companies in implementing corporate governance, TWSE and TPEx have developed the corporate governance evaluation indicators according to both the governmental regulations in Taiwan and the latest corporate governance principles by OECD and other global institutions. It covers 98 indicators in five important categories:
■ Protecting Shareholder Rights and Interests
■ Treating Shareholders Equitably
■ Increasing Information Transparency
■ Putting Corporate Social Responsibility into Practice
Totally there were 824 TWSE listed companies and 623 TPEx listed companies attending the evaluation this year, among which 41 TWSE listed companies and 31 TPEx listed companies were picked as the top with a 5% share and were awarded the honor on June 16, 2016.
