PLANET Technology Corporation, the global leading IP-based networking company, was once again awarded ‘2014 Corporate Citizenship Awards’ by CommonWealth Magazine. In particular, being the only company that has achieved this honor for 8 consecutive years under the category of Medium-sized Enterprises selected among nearly 2,000 public-listed companies in Taiwan, the recognition of PLANET’s long-standing practice of the universal values of corporate social responsibility (CSR) among the business was again affirmed by the society.
PLANET has been known for maintaining a good corporate entity. We are in good faith for this business philosophy, and thus actively implement corporate governance. We have received “Corporate Governance Certification” for three times and certified an “A” grade for information disclosure by our Government.
PLANET, from the perspective of bringing a long-term influence on human and environmental care in the community, has devoted to after-school tutoring and psychological counseling for the disadvantaged children, aiming to assist children who are slow-learners or those with behavioral or emotional problems in developing positive learning attitude and in shaping a healthy mindset and integrity. Till 2014, there have been a total of 16 elementary schools participated in this program over the past 10 years.
Besides developing environmentally-friendly products catering to the green technology trend, PLANET has supported promoting organic tea farming since 2010, thereby protecting water resources in Taiwan, which truly enables PLANET to achieve the value of sustainable development.
Over the years, through the promotion of CSR activities, PLANET’s staff has come to consensus that everyone is part of the CSR through their commitment to following the ethical and environmentally-friendly culture.
The “Corporate Citizenship Awards” is the largest scale of CSR performance evaluation for Taiwan’s companies, organized by CommonWealth Magazine, one of the most prestigious business media in Taiwan. It is benchmarked to international standards including the UN Global Compact, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, and Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes. To be eligible for this award, each company must continue to make profits for at least 3 consecutive years and outperform in the 4 main criteria: Corporate Governance, Company Commitment, Social Involvement, and Environmental Protection. Winning this award again, it acknowledged PLANET as a role model in serving the society by not only valuing “profit”, but also “people” and the “planet”.
