In recognition of our outstanding achievement in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), PLANET Technology was interview by A&S International, the leading international security magazine for global buyers, on how PLANET leverages of it resources to contribute to the society.
By using management expertise, employee manpower and various other resources, PLANET put CSR into practice, from environmental site cleanups and trash sorting to running after-school tutoring program for disadvantaged children from broken families. PLANET demonstrated ways to contribute to its community without requiring large monetary support.
The interview specially focused on PLANET’s effort in children’s education—one of PLANET’s main CSR initiatives. After observing the community issues, PLANET was determined to help resolve them and established the first education trust in Taiwan in 2004. This is to integrate resources and to develop an institutionalized approach to providing counseling and tutoring by making use of corporate know-how. The program is small and community-oriented but PLANET believes that it has made a big difference in the children’ lives and a long-term impact on the society.
PLANET’s effort in cultivating employee social participation won it numerous CSR awards consecutively from 2007 to 2011. However, having viewed CSR as part of PLANET core corporate culture, PLANET sincerely and strongly hope that our small initiative has set an example for the society and made a difference for someone.
