PLANET, one of the global leading IP-based companies, today announced that it has been awarded "2006 Taiwan Symbol of Excellence" by its 2 products. PLANET nominated products MAP-2000 and IPX-1803/IPX-1804, have been selected as this award winners. The honor reveals that PLANET products excel in the categories of R&D innovation, Design Innovation, Quality Systems, Marketing, and Brand Awareness.

This award is conducted by TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council) at the behest of the Ministry of Economics Affair (MOEA) of the R.O.C. government. It represents the honor and confirmation for the products Made-in-Taiwan. After the intense competition among various companies, 2 products of PLANET are given to this award: "MAP-2000 Outdoor Wireless Mesh Access Point" and "IPX-1803/IPX-1804 Internet Telephony PBX System". The PLANET MAP-2000 is designed with IEEE 802.11a/b/g standards and addressed on providing a high performance mesh network. Enhanced with the advanced MDOLSR (Modified Dynamic Optimal Link State Routing) protocol, the data is always transferred with the optimal path. The IPX-1803 / IPX-1804, a full-function SIP standard IP PBX system, is designed and optimized for the SMB, and SOHO daily communications. Besides offering the Voice over IP solution with IP Sharing, VoIP gateway and IP PBX, the PLANET IPX-1803 / IPX-1804 IP PBX integrates SIP Server, SIP Proxy Server, Voice Mail Server, IVR Server and Auto-provision Server to provide excellent voice quality in communication and ultimate expansion flexibility.
