PLANET, one of the global leading IP-based companies, today announced that it has been awarded “2003 Taiwan Symbol of Excellence” with its three products. The honor reveals that PLANET’s products excel in the categories of R&D innovation, Design Innovation, Quality Systems, Marketing, and Brand Awareness.

This award is conducted by CETRA (China External Trade Development Council) at the behest of the Ministry of Economics Affair (MOEA) of the R.O.C. government. It represents the honor and confirmation for the products Made-in-Taiwan. After the severe competition among various companies, three products of PLANET are given to this award: “ BM-2100 Bandwidth Manager”, “PL-401E Powerline to Ethernet Bridge with 4-port switch”, and “SGSW-4802 48-port Stackable Ethernet Switch with 2 Gigabit slots”. The renowned award has proved PLANET’s innovative promises to make our products globally competitive.

The perfect performance of the three products deeply impressed the panel of judges. The BM-2100 offers network administrators an easy yet powerful method to allocate network resources based on business priorities, and to shape, analyze and control bandwidth usage. The PL-401E is a Powerline to Ethernet bridge with four 10base-T/100Base-TX RJ-45 Ethernet interface for directly connecting to computer's Ethernet card or existing Ethernet switch, hub or broadband router, gives a high flexibility to expand powerline or Ethernet network. The SGSW-4802 removes the restrictions and limitations of standalone Switches by using stacking technology and it significantly enlarges switching port density to expand the port count from 48 to up to 768 ports.
